The Simple Practice That Helped Us Feel Better (and Stay Well)

A Gentle Spring Reset: Using Herbal Infusions to Nourish and Detox

When I first started working with herbs, this was one of the first things I learned about and I consistently stuck with it!  Over time, I started noticing real changes in our family.

We were getting sick less often.
Allergies improved.
Energy became more stable.

We simply felt better.

And what I love most is how simple it is. No complicated protocols, just herbal infusions.

Difference between what I call a Tea and a Nutritional Infusion:

  • Tea: steeped for 5–10 minutes
  • Nutritional Infusion: steeped for 4–8 hours

When you steep herbs longer, you’re not just getting flavor, you’re pulling out, minerals, vitamins, phytochemicals

This is one of the most powerful ways to actually nourish the body, not just stimulate it.

And unlike many supplements, which require digestion and breakdown, infusions are incredibly easy for the body to absorb.

Why Infusions Work So Well

One of the biggest things I see in practice is this:

People are trying to heal… but they’re undernourished.
Even when they’re eating “healthy.”

Between modern soil depletion, stress, and digestion issues, there’s often a gap, and the body just isn’t getting what it needs.

That’s where infusions come in.

They help bridge that gap in a really simple, sustainable way, because these herbs aren’t just “nutritious”, they’re medicinal too.

They:

  • Replenish minerals
  • Support the nervous system
  • Gently nourish digestion
  • Help the body rebuild over time
  • Gently addressing deeper imbalances

The clients who actually take the time to make them consistently get the best results.

It really is the best of both worlds.

I walk through the specific benefits of each herb in the full handout so you can understand exactly what each one is doing in your body.

Gentle Spring Detox

This is one of my favorite ways to support the body during the spring.

Spring is naturally a time when the body wants to move, clear, and reset from the Winter.
Infusions can be a really gentle way to support that process, helping the body detoxify without pushing it too hard.

This is not a harsh cleanse, just steady, daily nourishment that helps your detox systems do what they were designed to do.

Here’s my “Clear Pathways Infusion” recipe to help you get started.

  • Nettle – 1 part
  • Burdock Root – 1 Part
  • Hawthorn Berries – 1 Part
  • Cleavers – 1 Part
  • Mullein – ½ Part

This supports your blood, heart, liver, lungs, kidlymph, & digestion.

Not every herb is right for every person though.

Herbalism isn’t just: “I have this problem…. take this herb.”

It’s about matching:

  • Your body
  • Your current state
  • The energetics of the plant

That’s where people either:

  • Don’t see results
  • Or give up too early
