Kids Herbal Medicine Makers Class

Kids Herbal Medicine Makers Class

Getting kids comfortable with herbs before they’re sick makes all the difference—and the best way to do that is through hands-on making, tasting, and play.

In this interactive, kid-friendly herbal class, children (ages 6 and up) will learn how herbs support the body while actively making and trying their own herbal remedies. When kids help create their medicine, they’re far more willing—and even excited—to use it when they need it.

This class is designed to be sensory, experiential, and empowering, helping kids build familiarity with herbs in a calm, curious environment.

This class is local and in-person only but for those on-line or those who can’t make it, if you wish to learn more about herbs for kids and see a recorded class with kids enjoying/making the herbs then you can take my self-paced course here: https://l.bttr.to/J3XRE

What We’ll Do in Class

  • Make and taste herb-infused honey balls (a fun, nourishing way to take herbs)

  • Try “black applesauce” using activated charcoal and learn when it’s helpful

  • Taste and blend simple herbal teas, including:

    • A fever-support tea

    • A sleepytime tea

  • Explore basic herbal first aid, including:

    • Trying warm fomentations

    • Using herbal compresses on the body

    • Learning how and why herbs can be used topically

  • Make an herbal salve together and learn when to use it for everyday bumps, scrapes, and skin support

All activities are age-appropriate, gentle, and guided with safety in mind.

If weather is nice and herbs start popping up we might show some herbs.

Each child will go home with:

  • Their own herb-infused honey balls

  • Fever and Sleepy-time Tea
  • Activated charcoal

  • Herbs for making a compress

  • The herbal salve they helped make

  • Recipes for everything we did in class and more!
