Health Coach and Clinical Herbalist

It’s been a while since I’ve noted that I’m a Certified Health and Life Coach. I thought I’d chat about how that is helpful being integrated into my herbal practice.

When you come to see me with any ailment, I don’t just hand you a list of herbs and send you on your way. It’s much more than that. The herbs I recommend are there to support you as you make the necessary diet and lifestyle changes for better health, forming a holistic approach to your well-being.

Benefits of Working With a Health Coach and Clinical Herbalist

Making diet and lifestyle changes can be hard to do!  I know! I’ve been there!

I’ve done every diet imaginable. I’ve fasted for 2-5 days. I’ve drunk nothing but shakes for a month. I’ve had nothing but veggies and meat for a month. No sugar diet, whole foods diet, anti-inflammatory diet, low carb, Keto, etc.

It’s never easy to go on a “diet,” but what if you could make lifestyle changes that are not a chore? What if you made these changes because it was something you CHOOSE to do because you FEEL better? It is MUCH easier to make these changes when you understand “the why underneath the why.” One of my clients, Sarah R had this to say about her experience:

“Mindy is an excellent coach with invaluable experience and expertise! She is an outstanding listener and sincerely understands the ‘why beneath why.’”

In my practice as an herbalist, I found that the clients who are go-getters can do everything all at once, make the changes, and don’t need to understand why; they just do what you suggest. They had great success! They now feel great and would never return to doing the things that made them feel bad! They don’t need a coach. However, some clients need to understand why they must make these changes. They need to feel in their body the difference to know why these changes need to remain, to be a part of their life all the time. This is ME! I don’t know how many times I went back to eating gluten before it stuck that MY BODY does not do well with gluten! This is where a coach can come in and support someone to help them understand these things.  Coaches help you pay attention to your body to help you see how it makes your body feel. It is much different when you FEEL this instead of someone just telling you, “Gluten is bad for you-stop eating it.” When you FEEL how bad it makes you feel, it is MUCH more accessible for you to stop eating something not good for your body.

Some clients also get overwhelmed with “all the things.” It can be overwhelming to make a ton of changes all at once. “Which one do I start first, or can you put off one thing till later”? Or they can only handle one or two things at a time. This is where a coach can shine! Helping navigate what you should do first for the best benefits. Building one habit at a time is what is best for this client! Habits that stick! Coaches can help habits stick!

“During my sessions with Mindy, I have learned a lot about why and how I eat, stressors in my life (that I hadn’t even known!), and how to help me help myself. I have learned things to help me feel better and function better! Along with that, the herbs I’ve incorporated into my life are working in unison and helping me to eat, feel better, manage stress, and live healthy.  Thanks, Mindy, for helping me learn these things and the herbs that support me- they will last a lifetime!” Anita

Some clients love to have recipes that go along with their plans. As a health coach, I can give you many recipes with shopping lists and tips for eating in specific ways. If you struggle with sugar addiction, I can help you overcome that!

I have coaching programs for losing weight, conquering food addictions, balancing hormones, programs for those with diabetes, or trying to prevent diabetes and sleep issues. But as you can see above, coaching can be used for anyone needing to make significant changes in their health, diets, and lifestyle and needing the right system, accountability, and support to conquer their health!

I promise that working with me makes life changes more fun than a chore!

When you book a coaching session with me, you’re not just getting advice but embarking on a journey to transform your health and lifestyle. I recommend committing to a series of 12 sessions to allow us to work on building life-changing habits one step at a time. During these sessions, you’ll receive personalized advice, guidance, and the herbs you need to support your journey.
