Do Restless Legs Prevent You From Sleeping?

Do you get restless legs that keep you from sleeping?

When I was younger, I used to kick my legs to fall asleep; as I got older, I’d tap my feet to a rhythm to put myself to sleep. I did it a lot when I was stressed.

Did you know this could indicate an Iron or Magnesium deficiency?

Your nervous system could also be overtaxed, and taking some calming nervines could be helpful in this case. My favorite herb for this is Skullcap, and I’ll likely add it to some other herbs that suit the type of stress for each client.

Glutamates in food could also be causing your RLS.

I no longer have restless legs at night!  Except in a case where someone has upset me… but if I find myself doing that, I get up and take more of my sleep blend, which is full of anti-spasmodic nervines, which helps me calm down and fall asleep. 😊

Herbs and Restless Legs

If I were to make a generic blend for Restless Legs, I’d make the following.

  • Skullcap 35%
  • Blue Vervain 35%
  • Valerian can be helpful and or California Poppy, if pain in legs is making them restless.
